Mirdif City Centre attracts shoppers to endless fun

Shoppers are being greeted by an international mix of music, dance and entertainment as roaming groups bring South American and Chinese themes to the Mirdif City Centre as a part of Dubai Carnivals during the month-long 16th edition of the Dubai Shopping Festival.

Mirdif City Centre, the latest shopping mall to join the Majid Al Futtaim Properties portfolio, opened doors in March last year and is taking part in DSF for the first time. It and has an exciting line-up of entertainment events along side massive promotions and deals lasting up to February 20, 2011.

Majid Al Futtaim Properties is a strategic partner of the Dubai Events and Promotions Establishment (DEPE), which is an agency under Department of Economic Development and organizes Dubai Shopping Festival, Dubai Summer Surprises and ‘Eid in Dubai’.

The celebrations at Mirdif City Centre include a South American Group show and the Chinese Group Show that goes around the entire mall in batches of 20-25 performing artists, adding colour and vivacity to the shoppers’ overall experience at the mall.

One such cheerful onlooker, Samihah Abdullatif, a Kuwaiti citizen enjoying her shopping experience during DSF with her family, said: “This is my first time in Dubai during the festival period and I have to say I am very impressed. The DSF organizers have done a fantastic job of packing our shopping experience with a lot of fun and entertainment with such carnivals taking place in the mall. The South American Group Show has brought alive the whole ambience at the Mirdif City Centre this DSF.”

Yet another enthusiastic shopper, Rangeeth Fernando, a Sri Lankan citizen who has been based in Dubai for the last four years, said: “The deals and promotions during this DSF are simply amazing. And carnivals such as the South American Group Show being held at the Mirdif City Centre as well as some other malls in Dubai, help a great deal to attract more shoppers to the venue. It is more like a family event – wherein families come together in groups along with children to enjoy such colourful carnivals.

Mirdif City Centre also has on offer some of the most fantastic retail bargains besides chances to win gifts and shopping vouchers alongside bonus draws being at the mall.

Marco Frschetti, General Manager of a renowned global theatre group whose artists perform in carnivals at Mirdif City Centre and some other malls, said: “The DSF gives us a perfect opportunity to showcase Dubai on an international platform. We bring music and movement from around the world and reflect the truly international status of Dubai as the city that is home to many nationalities. Our troupes and performers from various countries thus appeal immensely to the audience.”
